What you get with commercial tint

Less heat on south and west glass

Heat-rejecting film cuts the solar heat that comes through large windows, so the rooms behind them stay closer to the temperature you set.

Less glare on screens

Film takes the edge off bright sun and reflections, so people can see their monitors without closing the blinds all day.

UV and fading

Window film blocks most UV light, which helps slow fading of displays, flooring, furniture and stock near the glass.

Daytime privacy

Darker, reflective or frosted films make it harder to see in from outside, which helps for ground floor offices and meeting rooms.

What office window film fixes

Commercial glass is big, and big glass lets in a lot of sun. These are the problems business owners bring to us.

  • Hot south and west rooms. Offices with afternoon sun can stay warm long after the air conditioning kicks in. Heat control film cuts the solar heat coming through the glass.
  • Glare on screens. When people work with the blinds shut all day, film lets you open them again.
  • Faded displays and stock. UV light fades product in front windows, signs, flooring and furniture. Film blocks most UV, which slows that fading.
  • Meeting rooms and back offices. Rooms that face a street, a parking lot or a hallway can use darker, reflective or frosted film for privacy. See privacy and frosted window film.

Film will not stop all fading or all heat. It cuts a big share of both. Tell us what you want to fix and we will say what film can do and what it cannot.

Storefront window tint

A storefront has to be seen from the street. That changes how you pick film.

Keep the window shopping

Light films cut heat and UV and still let people see the store from the sidewalk. Very dark or mirror films can make a shop look closed.

Hide what is behind the counter

Back rooms, staff areas and storage can get darker or frosted film while the display glass stays clear.

Protect what is on display

Clothes, books, art and packaging fade fast in a sunny window. Blocking UV slows that down.

Ask about your hours

A shop has to stay open. Ask us about after-hours or weekend installs when you request a quote.

Planning a commercial window film job

A few details make the quote faster and more accurate.

  • Photos of each window, inside and out, and the direction it faces.
  • Rough sizes of each pane, and how many there are.
  • Access. Ground floor glass, high windows and glass behind fixed furniture take different amounts of time.
  • Old film. Peeling or purple film has to come off before new film goes on.
  • Building rules. If you lease, check with your landlord or property manager first.

Not every film suits every pane. Some double-pane and coated glass is a poor match for darker films that absorb a lot of heat, so we look at the glass before we recommend anything.

Window film for businesses and homes

The same film work goes on houses. One customer had architectural tint put on their house windows and wrote that their main floor stays cool and the A/C runs less on hot days. See residential window tinting.

If your business runs vehicles, we tint those at the shop too. See car window tinting.

To get started, send your photos and sizes through the commercial window film quote form, or call (825) 437-0948.

Commercial window film for Calgary offices and storefronts

Commercial window tinting puts film on the glass of offices, shops and other business windows. The film cuts the heat and glare that come through big panes of glass, blocks most UV light and can add daytime privacy. It goes on the inside of the existing glass, so the windows stay where they are.

Most calls start with one problem. A south or west office that gets too hot every afternoon. Screens nobody can read after lunch. A front window display that fades. A meeting room that faces the hallway or the street. Tell us what is going on at your place and we will tell you which kind of film fits.

We do this work alongside the car tint we do every day at the shop. Ask us which films we carry for commercial glass and how they compare for your windows.

How a commercial tint job runs

01

Photos and window sizes

Send photos of the windows, rough sizes, which way they face and what you want to fix: heat, glare, fading or privacy.

02

Film match and quote

We check the glass type and recommend a film for it. Ask us which films we carry. Then you get a quote for the job.

03

Clean glass and covered floors

Sills and floors under the windows are covered, then each pane is scraped and cleaned so nothing is trapped under the film.

04

Install and walkthrough

The film is cut to each pane and squeegeed out. We go over curing and cleaning with you before we leave.

Commercial window tinting questions

It depends on how much glass there is, the size of each pane, the film you pick, how easy the windows are to reach and whether old film has to come off. Send photos and rough sizes through the quote form and we will price it.

Yes. Window film lowers how much bright light comes through the glass, which cuts glare on monitors and TVs. Darker and reflective films cut more glare than light ones.

Yes. Light films cut heat and UV and keep the store visible from the street. If you want to hide a back room or a storage area, a darker or frosted film can go on just that glass.

Not if you pick the right film. Some films reject a lot of heat while still looking fairly clear. We help you balance heat, glare and light for each room.

Ask us when you request a quote. Tell us your business hours and which areas are busiest, and we will talk through timing.

Film cuts the solar heat that comes through the glass, so air conditioning has less heat to remove from sunny rooms. How much difference it makes depends on the building, how much glass faces the sun and the film you choose.

Most glass can take film, but not every film suits every window. Some double-pane and coated units are a poor match for darker films that absorb a lot of heat. We check the glass before recommending a film, and it is worth checking any window warranty too.

If you lease the space, check with your landlord or property manager first. Some buildings have rules about how windows look from outside. Film can be removed later if the lease requires it.

Ask us. Frosted and privacy films are a different product from heat control film. See our privacy window film page for how they work.

They also did our house windows with architectural tint to block out some of the heat and UV rays to prevent bleaching our furniture. It was quick and easy and the results are worth it. The main floor stays nice and cool now and I've noticed our A/C is not running as often as it used to on the really hot days.
